Hi, I’m Dorinda!

I’m a wife, mom, pastor, Bible teacher, conference speaker, and the founder of She Lives the Word.

I’ve been married to my husband, Chad, since 2004, and together we have the incredible privilege of pastoring Journey City Church. We have two amazing teenagers, Ayden and Selah, who keep life fun, busy, and never boring!

When I’m not studying my Bible or creating Bible study resources, you’ll probably find me cheering on a football game, playing a ridiculously competitive round of Nertz or Spoons with family and friends, browsing the office supply aisle for my next favorite pen, sipping a Dr Pepper, shopping, trying a new makeup product, or curled up with a good book.

Football is a big deal in our house! Chad and I cheer for different NFL teams, but every fall we happily unite to cheer on Alabama football.

Over the years, God has given me opportunities to serve as a pastor, speak at conferences and women’s events, and contribute as a published author. But my greatest passion is helping women discover that the Bible isn’t meant to be intimidating—it’s an invitation to know God.

Whether you’ve been reading Scripture for years or you’re just getting started, my hope is that you’ll find practical tools, biblical encouragement, and the confidence to open God’s Word for yourself.

My teaching style is engaging, practical, and rooted in Scripture. I love bringing biblical truth to life through storytelling, humor, real-life experiences, and practical application that people can carry with them long after the event is over.

My goal isn’t simply to inspire people for a moment.

It’s to help them open their Bibles with confidence and leave believing, “I can do this.”
